What stays on your device
Everything you put into FloorCheck is stored in the app's private storage on the phone or tablet, and nowhere else:
- People's names, roles, employee numbers and PINs. PINs are never stored as typed: the app keeps a salted, slow hash of each one.
- Lines, products, specifications and checks, and everything recorded on them: readings, answers, photos, corrective actions, holds, sign-offs, and the audit trail of who did what and when.
- Device settings, such as which line a tablet serves and which scale it uses.
We have no copy of this information and no way to see it.
What can leave your device
Crash reports
When FloorCheck hits an error, it can send a report so we can fix it. A report contains the error and where in the app it happened, the app version, the device model and operating system version, and a random install id that isn't tied to any person. It does not contain names, PINs, plant or product names, or any records. Reports are sent through Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), kept for a limited time, and used only to fix problems. Reports wait on the device until there's a connection. An admin can turn them off in Settings, under About this device.
Subscriptions
If your plant subscribes to FloorCheck Pro, payment is handled entirely by Google Play (or Apple's App Store). We never see card details. To know a plant has Pro, the app checks its subscription status through RevenueCat, Inc. using an anonymous plant id the app creates. Google, Apple and RevenueCat handle this under their own privacy policies.
Files you choose to share
Backups, setup files for adding a device, and exported reports go only where you send them, such as Google Drive, iCloud, email or another device. They can contain your staff's names and PIN hashes and your plant's records, so treat them like any business record.
Camera, Bluetooth and the local network
- Camera: used to read barcodes, date codes and labels, and to take photos on checks. Reading happens on the device with no connection. Photos are saved with the check on the device and go only where you send a backup or report.
- Bluetooth: used to find and connect to scales and their adapters. On older Android versions, Bluetooth scanning requires the location permission; FloorCheck doesn't use your location.
- Local network (iPhone and iPad): asked for only to reach equipment on your plant's own network.
Your plant's people
The plant that uses FloorCheck decides whose names and records go into it and is responsible for that information. Because the information stays on the plant's devices, requests to see, correct or delete it go to the plant, which can do so in the app.
Deleting information
Uninstalling FloorCheck deletes everything it stored on that device. Backups or files you shared are deleted wherever you keep them. To ask us to delete crash reports from a device, email us with the install id shown in Settings.
Children
FloorCheck is a workplace tool and isn't meant for children.
Changes
If we change what FloorCheck collects, for example by adding an optional cloud service, we'll update this policy before the change ships and show the new effective date here.
