Getting started
- Try a sample plant first if you like: a food plant and a machine shop, each with a week of records, so every screen and report has something in it.
- Set up your plant. Choose what you make, add your lines and products, and FloorCheck suggests the checks plants like yours run. The first person becomes the admin and chooses a PIN.
- Add your people. Each person signs in with their name and their own 5-digit PIN, so every record says who did it.
- Connect a scale if you weigh product: Settings, Scale and instruments, Set up a scale. See the scale guide.
- Save a first backup from Settings. A "Finish setting up" list on the Today screen tracks these steps.
More than one device
- Add a device: on a device that's set up, open Settings and tap Share setup with a new device. Send the file to the new device (AirDrop, Nearby Share, email or Drive) and, on its first screen, tap Add this device to my plant. Lines, checks and people come across, and everyone keeps their PIN.
- Plant-wide reports: each device keeps its own records. On a supervisor's device, tap Collect records from another device and open that device's backup. Records already there are skipped, so collecting again is safe.
- Station tablets: in Settings, make a tablet the station for one line. Lock it to FloorCheck with Android screen pinning or iPhone and iPad Guided Access.
Label checks
- Set up the label on the product. More, Products and specs, pick the product, then Add a label (for example "Case label"). Photograph the approved label: the phone reads it and offers each line of text and each barcode it found. Tap the ones the label must always show.
- Build your plant's codes once. More, Date codes. A code is a list of pieces joined in order: text, part of a date (production or best-by, plus or minus days, months or years), the time, the shift, the line's code or number, the product's code, and the plant code. Each piece can be padded, shortened, printed as a letter (October as K) or looked up in a table. A traceability code like POLK1226L5A is plant PO, product code L, month K, day 12, year 26 and line L5A. The editor shows what every piece and the whole code read right now.
- Set the product and line codes. Each product's code (L for liquids) is on the product; each line's code (L5A) is on the line.
- Add the code to the label. On the label, + Date code picks one of the plant's codes. + Lot matches the lot set at changeover.
- Try it. Try it on a label photographs a real label and shows what the phone found, before anyone relies on it.
- Ask for it in a check. In a check, add a question of type Label check and choose the label by name. One question covers every product that has that label set up.
At the line, the operator photographs the label and sees the approved label beside it, with each thing it must show marked found or not, and what the label actually says when something differs. The operator always makes the call. Labels made in the last 90 minutes match too, so a shift change or midnight never fails good product. A product without the label set up is compared by eye.
Questions
Someone forgot their PIN
An admin opens People, picks the person and resets their PIN. They choose a new one the next time they sign in.
Someone is locked out
Too many wrong PINs locks a person out for a few minutes, longer each time. Wait it out, or have an admin reset their PIN.
A device was lost or broken
Restore its latest backup onto a new device from the first screen (Add this device to my plant, then open the backup) or from Settings. Records since that backup can't be recovered, so back up often.
Can operators use Spanish?
Yes. Settings, Operator screens in Spanish. Check names and questions you type show as you typed them.
Does FloorCheck need Wi-Fi?
No. Everything works with no connection. Crash reports, if switched on, wait until there is one.
Where is my data?
On your devices, and in any backups you make. We don't have a copy. See the privacy policy.
My scale doesn't connect
Run the setup again and read what it says: it tells you whether nothing arrived, the data was scrambled, or no weight was found, and what to change. The scale guide has more.
The label check says something is missing, but the label is right
Glare, curved containers and small print can fool the camera. Tap It's right, the camera misread it; the record notes that a person checked it. If it happens often, photograph the approved label again in good light, or shorten the text the label must show to the words that matter.
How do I delete everything?
Uninstall FloorCheck from the device. Delete any backups or shared files wherever you saved them.
